Whitney & Brent

Any Race- Any Gender- Open Adoption

Brent and Whitney Scheckel are a loving, faith-centered couple who have built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and deep intentionality. Brent is 31 and Whitney is 32, and they have been married for nearly nine years—since August 19, 2017. Their marriage began with a simple lunch date that turned into hours of easy conversation, and from that moment on, they knew they had found something special in each other. Today, that same connection continues to shape the steady, loving foundation of their family.

They are the proud parents of two young boys, Vincent (age 7) and Matthias (age 4), who bring joy, energy, and curiosity into their everyday lives. Their home in Tennessee is active and welcoming, a place where there is always something happening—whether it’s playing outside, baking in the kitchen, or winding down together for a family movie night. It’s the kind of home where children are deeply known, guided, and loved.

Whitney is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools their boys, creating a calm and nurturing environment where learning is personal and meaningful. Her days are filled with teaching, cooking, gardening, caring for their chickens, and pouring into her children’s growth. Brent is currently completing his residency to become an orthopedic surgeon. His work is demanding, but his heart is firmly rooted at home. When he is home, he is all in—playing sports with the boys, spending time outdoors, and making memories as a family.

Faith is at the center of their lives. They are active members of their church and strive to live with purpose, kindness, and gratitude. Their home reflects those values—a place where children are guided with love, taught right from wrong, and encouraged to grow into who they are meant to be.

Their parenting style is thoughtful and balanced. They believe in structure and guidance, paired with patience, grace, and encouragement. They want every child in their home to feel safe, secure, and deeply loved, while also learning responsibility, respect, and strong values.

Family is incredibly important to them. Both Brent and Whitney come from close, supportive families who remain actively involved in their lives. Holidays are meaningful and often spent traveling to be together—filled with traditions like time on the lake in the summer, hunting trips in the fall, and cozy Christmas celebrations with lights, baking, and laughter. They are intentional about building memories and creating a sense of belonging for their children.

They also value shared experiences and adventure. Each year, they take special trips as a family—whether it’s visiting places like the Ark Encounter, enjoying theme parks, or planning new adventures like Mount Rushmore or a family waterpark trip. Even in the small, everyday moments—bike rides, playing in the yard, or simply sitting down together for dinner—they focus on being present with one another.

Their home is full of life, including two beloved dogs who have been part of their family for many years. The environment they’ve created is safe, warm, and welcoming—where a child can grow up surrounded by love, stability, and support.

Brent and Whitney’s journey to adoption comes from both a long-held desire and a place of deep compassion. After experiencing the loss of four pregnancies, they felt their hearts open even more toward adoption—a path they had already felt called to before. Through both joy and heartbreak, their desire has remained the same: to love and raise a child with everything they have.

They approach adoption with sensitivity, respect, and openness. They believe every child has a unique story that should be honored and shared with honesty and care. They are also thoughtful about the relationship with a birth mother, understanding that every situation is different and wanting to move forward in a way that feels respectful and supportive for everyone involved.

At the heart of everything, Brent and Whitney simply want to provide a life full of love, faith, security, and opportunity. They hope to build a lasting legacy—not just for their children, but for generations to come—rooted in strong values, meaningful relationships, and a deep sense of belonging.
