Meet Michael and Lauren

Michael and Lauren are a joyful, family-centered couple who are honored you are taking the time to learn more about them.

Michael is registered nurse that works for a medical device company as a Cardiac Rhythm Management Clinical Specialist, and Lauren is a stay-at-home mom homeschooling their 6 year old son Josiah, whom they also adopted. Josiah is so excited to become a big brother!

Their home is lively and welcoming, complete with a sweet cat who brings even more warmth to their lives. Creating a supportive, loving environment where children can thrive is the heart of their family mission. They are Christians and are very active in their church community.

Their Story

Michael and Lauren first met at Lauren’s church college group and Wednesday night Bible study, connecting over a volleyball game. One of Michael’s close friends was dating someone from Lauren’s church, bringing him into her circle.

Although they hit it off immediately, Lauren was in another relationship and initially thought Michael was too young to be a prospective husband, so they remained casual friends for about six months.

After Lauren’s previous relationship ended, Michael joined her group of friends in swing dancing, and their relationship quickly blossomed.

Early in their dating journey, Lauren’s parents requested they separate. During this year apart, they wrote heartfelt letters to each other, leaving them on each other’s cars at school. When the year was up, Michael and Lauren reunited and began immediately planning their life together. Their journey, though unconventional, made their bond incredibly strong and full of purpose.

Family Life and Traditions

Michael and Lauren are the heart of family gatherings, hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, the Fourth of July, and other holidays at their home. Michael, known for his incredible brined turkey, helps prepare large, festive meals, creating memorable moments for family and friends.

Christmas is especially dear to them — they celebrate all month long by visiting light displays, shopping for thoughtful gifts, singing carols, watching holiday movies, and baking countless batches of cookies.

Family is a priority, and Josiah adores spending time with his cousins during family visits. Seeing his nurturing spirit with younger children gives Michael and Lauren great joy and confidence in his future role as a big brother.

About Michael 

Michael is a steady, kind, and adventurous man.

He feels most alive and relaxed in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and off-roading. They just purchased a small family travel trailer to make camping trips even more accessible and fun for their growing family.

He has an eclectic love of music, enjoys car-related events, reading theology books, and spending time with friends in his garage man-cave. Michael’s devotion to family, strong work ethic, and joyful spirit make him a wonderful husband and father.

About Lauren

Lauren is creative, nurturing, and full of joy.

She has a passion for photography, especially capturing moments during family hikes, travels, and camping trips. Lauren enjoys home décor, flower arranging, singing, and listening to a wide range of music, from Celtic and country to choral and praise and worship.

She is an avid reader with a particular love for historical fiction and mysteries, and she delights in thrifting and resale as a fun side project. Whether spending time outdoors, enjoying a pumpkin-spice treat, or relaxing with a book or bubble bath, Lauren brings warmth and enthusiasm to every part of family life.

Her love for motherhood shines in every interaction with Josiah, and she eagerly looks forward to extending that love to another child.

Adventures and Family Time

Michael and Lauren prioritize quality time together as a family.

Every summer, they participate in a family reunion with Michael’s side of the family and plan as many weekend camping trips as possible throughout the year. They also enjoy visiting parks, libraries, farmer’s markets, and community events, and they love exploring new coffee shops and restaurants together.

Their home is full of laughter, hospitality, and adventure, and they value creating special memories both at home and out in the world.

They pray often for Josiah’s birth mom and dream of providing the same sense of rootedness, love, and belonging for the next child they welcome home.
